Story

Hey there, I’m Shari McKinney!

I’m a wife, mom of three, and grandma to 13 amazing grandkids. I married my high school sweetheart 38 years ago, and together, we own a ranch in southeastern Montana. Life here is a mix of family, animals, and plenty of time spent outdoors—I love working in my yard, tending to my plants, and soaking up the simple joys of ranch life. And, of course, you’ll almost always find me with an iced Americano in hand!

Entrepreneurship has been a big part of my life for years. I started out selling online under the name Western Chick, which later became the name of my boutique and coffee shop. After running my shop from 2009 to 2022, I took a short break before launching Western Chick Bookkeeping, LLC—because I just couldn’t let go of the name (or my love for business).

Now, I run a 100% online bookkeeping firm, helping business owners across the U.S. get their books in order. My experience with QuickBooks started back when I was managing my own business finances, and now I use that knowledge to make bookkeeping easier for others. Running a home-based business gives me the flexibility to do what I love while still being there for my family and my ranch.
